About the Ladin language.
Ladin is spoken in the Dolomite valleys of northern Italy: Val Gardena and Val Badia in South Tyrol, Val di Fassa in Trentino, and Livinallongo and Ampezzo in the province of Belluno. It is a recognised minority language. It is a Romance language, related to Romansh in Switzerland and to Friulian, which have their own pages.
Each valley has its own written form, such as Gherdëina in Val Gardena and Badiot in Val Badia, and there is also a common standard. Tell us which valley your readers live in and we will follow its form.
In South Tyrol, schools in the Ladin valleys teach in Ladin, German and Italian, and official documents there are usually issued in German and Italian, which we also translate. Ladin work is usually public and cultural material, education, tourism and marketing, and signage.
We translate in both directions, including Ladin into English, German or Italian. A certified translation is available for these. If an authority asks for a sworn translation, ask us to confirm availability for the language pair.
