About the Dari language.
Dari is the Persian of Afghanistan and, with Pashto, one of the country's two official languages. It is the main language of government, education and business in Kabul and much of the country. It is written in the Perso-Arabic script, from right to left.
Dari and the Farsi of Iran are the same language in writing, but vocabulary, spelling conventions and official terms differ. An Afghan document should be translated by a Dari translator, and English text for Afghan readers should be written in Dari, not Iranian Farsi. Farsi (Iranian Persian) has its own page.
