09. Transcription.

Accurate transcription of audio and video recordings into written text, used in legal, research, media, and corporate contexts.

Transcription
The brief

Transcription turns spoken word into a faithful written record. Our transcribers are trained linguists, not generic typists. They handle multiple speakers, regional accents, technical jargon, and crosstalk. Output can be verbatim (every um and pause), edited (cleaned for readability), or time-coded for use with video and subtitling workflows. We work in any of the languages our translation bench covers, with the same confidentiality and quality controls.

Verbatim and clean transcription

  • Verbatim transcription keeps every word, pause and filler. It suits legal and research use, where exactly what was said matters.
  • Clean transcription is edited for readability. Fillers and false starts are removed, and the meaning is kept.

Time-coded transcripts for video and subtitles

Time-coded transcripts mark when each passage is spoken. They are the usual starting point for subtitling and video editing. For the difference between audio and video work, see audio or video transcription.

Legal and court audio

Our transcribers are trained linguists who handle multiple speakers, regional accents, technical jargon and crosstalk. That matters in court recordings, hearings and depositions. See also legal translation.

Research interviews and media

We transcribe research interviews, documentaries and broadcast material. The same confidentiality and quality controls apply as on our translation work.

Transcription and translation in one job

We transcribe in any of the languages our translators cover. Where you need the recording in another language, transcription and translation can be quoted as one project.
