Transcription.

Accurate transcription of audio and video recordings into written text, used in legal, research, media, and corporate contexts.

Transcription

Verbatim and clean transcription.

Transcription turns a recording into a written record. Tell us how the transcript will be used so we can agree the level of detail, speaker labels and time codes required.

  • Verbatim transcription keeps every word, pause and filler. It suits legal and research use, where exactly what was said matters.
  • Clean transcription is edited for readability. Fillers and false starts are removed, and the meaning is kept.

Time-coded transcripts for video and subtitles.

Time-coded transcripts mark when each passage is spoken. They are the usual starting point for subtitling and video editing. For the difference between audio and video work, see audio or video transcription.

Transcription and translation in one job

We confirm transcription availability for the recording’s language, subject and audio quality. Where you need the recording in another language, transcription and translation can be quoted as one project.

Legal and court audio.

Our transcribers are trained linguists who handle multiple speakers, regional accents, technical jargon and crosstalk. That matters in court recordings, hearings and depositions. See also legal translation.

Research interviews and media

We transcribe research interviews, documentaries and broadcast material. The same confidentiality and quality controls apply as on our translation work.

Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between verbatim and clean transcription?

Verbatim retains spoken details such as repetitions and fillers; clean transcription removes agreed speech clutter for readability. Explain whether pauses, false starts and non-speech sounds matter for your purpose so the conventions are agreed in the quote.

Can you transcribe and translate?

Transcription and translation can be assessed together. Send the recording, source and target languages, duration and intended use. Availability and the review needed depend on the language pair, subject and audio quality.

Do you time-code?

Time codes can help you find passages or prepare subtitles. Tell us how often you need them, whether speakers must be labelled and what file format your editing or research workflow requires.
