About the Quechua language.

Quechua (Runasimi) is the most widely spoken Indigenous language family of the Americas. It is spoken across the Andes in Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, and in parts of Argentina, Chile and Colombia. It has official status in Peru and Bolivia alongside Spanish. It is written in the Latin alphabet.

Quechua is a family of varieties rather than a single standard. Southern Quechua, including the Cusco and Ayacucho varieties, has the most speakers; Ecuador's Kichwa differs noticeably. Tell us the region of your readers and we will match the translator.

Official documents in the Andean countries are usually in Spanish, which we also translate. Quechua work is usually health, education and community information, cultural and research material, and interpreting.

We translate in both directions, including Quechua into English or Spanish. Names and place names have several spellings, so we keep them consistent with the documents you supply. A certified translation is available for these. If an authority asks for a sworn translation, ask us to confirm availability for the language pair.
