Statement of Results vs final certificate.
A Statement of Results records a candidate’s examination outcome. It is not necessarily the same document as the final Matric or qualification certificate issued after certification.
The statement of results and the final certificate are related but separate documents.
Names and identity numbers
Names and ID details matter.
The Department of Basic Education specifically advises candidates to check their names and identity numbers on the Statement of Results. Those details are kept consistent in translation as well, because the document may be compared with an identity document, a passport or a later certificate.
