Medical terminology and abbreviations.
Medical documents often use specialist terminology, abbreviations, units and internationally recognised drug names. The translation preserves the clinical meaning accurately and consistently, rather than replacing terminology with simplified assumptions.
Medical reports for South African immigration.
South African immigration regulations specifically define and require medical reports in certain visa and permanent-residence procedures. In those contexts, the prescribed report may not be older than six months at submission.
That age requirement relates to the immigration procedure. It is not a rule for every medical report in every context. Tell us if your report is for an immigration application, so it can be prepared with that in mind.
A radiological report is a different document.
South African immigration regulations separately define a radiological report as certification by a registered radiologist concerning active pulmonary tuberculosis. It is therefore not automatically the same document as the general medical report.
If both are required, send both, and tell us which is which so each is translated on its own terms.

Medical reports are often translated when a patient moves between healthcare systems or seeks treatment abroad. Where the report will be read by another medical professional, preserving terminology, chronology, measurements and medication details is particularly important.
